If HalfBuilt later becomes incorporated or changes its legal structure, these Terms will be updated accordingly. --- ## 1. Acceptance of Terms By accessing or using HalfBuilt, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the platform. --- ## 2. Eligibility HalfBuilt is intended for founders, builders, professionals, students and individuals seeking startup collaborations. If you are under the age of 18, you may only use HalfBuilt with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By using HalfBuilt, you represent that you have obtained such permission where required under the laws applicable to you. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of HalfBuilt complies with the laws applicable in your country or jurisdiction. --- ## 3. Platform Role HalfBuilt is an online discovery, networking and communication platform that helps founders, builders and startup enthusiasts connect. HalfBuilt does not act as an employer, recruiter, employment agency, business partner, investment adviser, broker, venture capital firm, legal adviser, financial adviser, event organiser, ticketing provider, background-check agency or representative of any user. --- ## 4. No Verification Guarantee While HalfBuilt may perform moderation and review submitted content, we do not verify or guarantee: - Identity of any user - Qualifications or experience - Startup ownership or legitimacy - Ownership of an idea or intellectual property - Business registration - Funding claims - Financial position - Criminal history - Authenticity of uploaded documents - Safety or legitimacy of events - Availability of jobs, compensation or equity Users are solely responsible for conducting their own due diligence before entering into conversations, partnerships, employment, investments or agreements. --- ## 5. Ideas, Confidentiality and Intellectual Property Posting or discussing an idea on HalfBuilt does not create a confidential relationship. HalfBuilt is not a party to any Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) unless separately agreed in writing. Users should execute their own NDA before sharing confidential or commercially sensitive information. Users remain solely responsible for protecting their patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and other intellectual property. HalfBuilt is not responsible for idea theft, copying, similarity, duplication, infringement, misuse or unauthorized disclosure by another user to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Similar ideas or businesses may exist independently. HalfBuilt does not determine who first created or owns any idea. --- ## 6. User Content You retain ownership of all content you upload. By uploading content, you grant HalfBuilt a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce and process your content solely for operating, maintaining and improving the platform. You confirm that: - You own or have permission to upload your content. - Your content does not infringe the rights of others. - Information you provide is accurate and not misleading. - Uploaded CVs, portfolios, logos, images and PDFs are lawful. You remain solely responsible for everything you publish. By uploading content, you acknowledge that public profile information may be viewed, shared or copied by other users. You should never upload confidential information, trade secrets or materials you are not legally permitted to share. --- ## 7. Prohibited Conduct You may not use HalfBuilt to: - Create fake identities or impersonate others - Commit fraud or scams - Mislead users - Steal ideas, documents or money - Infringe intellectual property - Harass, threaten or discriminate against others - Send spam or unsolicited promotions - Upload malware or attempt unauthorized access - Scrape platform data - Create fake startup listings - Post fake jobs or investment opportunities - Promote pyramid schemes or illegal financial activities - Upload private information without consent - Create fake or misleading events - Offer illegal products or services --- ## 8. Co-Founder Connections HalfBuilt provides a platform for discovery and introductions only. We do not guarantee: - Successful matches - Partnerships - Employment - Investments - Equity - Payments - Revenue - Compatibility - Business success - Continued communication Any agreement formed through HalfBuilt exists solely between the users involved. --- ## 9. Meetings and Personal Safety Users are responsible for: - Independently verifying identities - Meeting in safe public locations - Informing trusted contacts before meetings - Avoiding suspicious payments - Conducting background checks where appropriate - Seeking professional legal or financial advice before signing agreements HalfBuilt strongly recommends conducting video calls and appropriate due diligence before entering into partnerships or sharing sensitive information. HalfBuilt is not responsible for physical harm, fraud, theft, harassment, financial loss or misconduct resulting from online or offline interactions. --- ## 10. Founder Events Only startup, entrepreneurship and founder-related events may be listed. HalfBuilt provides event discovery only. Unless explicitly stated, HalfBuilt does not organize, sponsor, endorse or verify any event. HalfBuilt does not process ticket payments. Event organizers are solely responsible for venues, schedules, speakers, refunds, cancellations, pricing and attendee safety. Users should verify all event information directly with organizers. --- ## 11. External Links HalfBuilt may contain links to third-party websites including LinkedIn, Google Maps, ticketing platforms, payment providers and other services. We are not responsible for the content, security, policies or practices of third-party websites. --- ## 12. No Professional Advice Information available on HalfBuilt does not constitute legal, financial, investment, tax, employment or business advice. Reporting and Moderation Users may report: - Profiles - Listings - Events - Messages - Intellectual property violations - Fraud - Safety concerns HalfBuilt may review, restrict, remove or reject content and suspend accounts at its discretion.
